We are looking to hire someone to maintain our community garden. Tasks will include weeding, watering, planting and harvesting the plot for the food bank. In addition tasks will include maintenance of the garden, fence, weed wacking, staining raised beds, repairs as needed to the garden and equipment as needed, working on the compost pile. Greeting others who use the garden and assisting them as able. And more as needed. Some heavy lifting will be required, as well as repetitive tasks like bending over, shoveling raking and more. This job will require the candidate to be outside in all weather conditions.

Successful candidate will be part of the grounds crew primarily responsible for the maintenance of lawns, ditches, driveways. Other duties could include fire wood, and building maintenance items such as painting. The Village of Hope is a Christian work environment and there is no smoking or vaping anywhere on the property.

Aquatic staff are required to teach all levels of the Lifesaving Society Swim Program which includes but is not limited to instruction, supervision, testing and record keeping. They are also required to supervise recreational activities during open swims and facilitate organization and implementation of a week long "activity" based fun week. They also perform daily pool maintenance tasks.

The activity aide assists the activity coordinator with planning and implementing activities. The activities take place in groups or 1 to 1. The activity aide learns to about creating therapeutic activities for residents for numerous health benefits. The activity aide assists residents to decrease their feelings of isolation and to help them unwind and relax. Their is a social component to the activity aide position where they would have the opportunity to learn about each resident's life, their profession, their family, the values and their beliefs. The activity aide would also work within a multi-displinary team to provide comprehensive care to the residents and would report their findings on the participation level of residents involved in programs they are facilitating.

Staff will be responsible for the daily supervision of a waterfront beach within Rothesay. Duties will include swimming lessons, beach supervision and clean up of the site.

Playground program leaders will be responsible for the overall operation of a summer program for youth ages 5-12. the program will run daily at various locations in Rothesay.

Supervising and planning a summer camp for children, many of whom are from economically challenged families and diverse cultural communities.
Staff will ensure that children (new immigrants, recognized minorities, low income families, aboriginal, etc) are part of an inclusive program and have a positive experience. Staff will help the Children to feel empowered, a sense of belonging and improved self esteem.
