The Programming / Events Coordinator will support Centre for Youth Care by planning, coordinating, and delivering recreational, educational, and community-based events for youth in care throughout the summer. Working closely with Youth Care Workers, the role focuses on creating safe, inclusive, and engaging activities that promote positive youth experiences, life skills, and community connection.
Key responsibilities include organizing summer events and outings, coordinating schedules and logistics, communicating with internal teams and community partners, supporting youth participation, and assisting with event setup and supervision. The position also helps track participation, gather feedback, and support continuous improvement of programming.
This role is ideal for a student interested in youth services, recreation, social work, or community development who enjoys planning events and working directly with young people in a supportive environment.

Under the supervision of the Communications and Engagement Specialist, the Engagement and Outreach Assistant will provide support on a number of environmental engagement and outreach activities within our ongoing projects throughout the summer. As a day camp counsellor, you will be responsible for the planning and implementing of a safe, enjoyable, and inclusive summer day camp for school aged children. This includes, but is not limited to planning activities, crafts, games, outings, and special events. You will ensure that the building, playground, and playing fields are in safe working order, and free of hazards. You will also be responsible for ensuring that all equipment is properly maintained. Preparing an afternoon snack, and end of the day cleaning is required to be completed on a rotating schedule.
Most importantly, you will be responsible for making sure that all children attending feel safe, and welcome, by having open communication with them, and showing a genuine interest in each child.
