The candidate will conduct inspections and surveys along the Fredericton Trail network, with an emphasis on safety and useability issues in an environment to practice and develop engineering skills, gain work experience in data collection, analysis, report writing, and presentations. Final Product to will deal with infrastructure survey and trail characteristics as: accessibility, motor traffic, inspections, bicycle lanes, useability, signage and active transportation facilities and characteristics.
Workload/work day is variable but as necessary work can be modified to work with candidates’ schedule or abilities and weather conditions. The successful candidate will be organized and self-motivated, outgoing, comfortable approaching the public, able to travel around the city trails, able to work outside, be comfortable with technology and remote work, with a strong writing, computer and graphic design skills. Bilingualism is an asset.

The Summer Farm Intern will support a regenerative community teaching farm that addresses food insecurity, environmental stewardship, and community food sovereignty. This paid experiential learning position is ideal for a person interested in sustainable agriculture and public education. Under the supervision of the Community Farm Manager, the intern will gain hands-on skills in regenerative farming and inclusive community programming. No prior farm or program experience is required.
Duties include assisting with soil preparation, composting, planting, cultivating, and harvesting crops using regenerative methods; supporting farm maintenance and biodiversity practices; assisting with educational programs, farm tours, and workshops; supporting weekly harvest and food distribution for community partners; creating social media content; collecting basic data; maintaining records; following safety protocols; and collaborating with staff and volunteers.
