The Watershed Technician will provide technical support to the SJRS’s field and office-based projects including water quality monitoring and research, shoreline assessments, riparian restoration and microplastic sampling, and community outreach projects. The Watershed Technician will also be tasked with shoreline restoration, wharf maintenance, wake-aware outreach, and office tasks including data entry, report writing, and assisting at community events. This position requires a candidate with the initiative to work with minimal supervision. Candidates with good communication and interpersonal skills and safety awareness are a must. Should enjoy working outside in all weather conditions and around water and boats. Candidates pursuing university/college programs in biology, environmental science, or ecology will find this position an asset to their education and career development. This seasonal full-time position (35 hours per week) for 10 -12 weeks commencing in June 2025.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated summer student to assist with community engagement and outreach efforts. This role will support our team by attending pop-up events, community initiatives, and markets to raise awareness about our services and promote mental health education. Key responsibilities include representing Just Us at events to share program information, assisting with the planning and execution of outreach initiatives—particularly during Mental Health Awareness Month in May—engaging with community members and distributing promotional materials, providing administrative support for ongoing projects, and collaborating with team members on creative ideas to enhance outreach efforts.
