The Lifeguard is responsible for supervising the pool area, ensuring the safety of all patrons, maintaining a clean and welcoming environment, and delivering swimming lessons (if qualified). This position also involves assisting with special events, such as birthday parties and pool rentals. The Lifeguard will uphold all policies and procedures of the Recreaplex Inc. and contribute to local initiatives promoting active living for individuals of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities. The Lifeguard reports directly to the Aquatic Supervisor.

Attend Leadership Camp
Prepare a list of pool regulations and post at the pool and lodge
Check all safety and first-aid equipment that will be used at the pool
Have absolute authority in the pool area over campers, counsellors, directors and staff
Give your full attention to lifeguarding when you are on duty.
Make sure the rules are understood and followed
The Lifeguard is to TEST ALL SWIMMERS
The pool must be vacuumed daily
The Lifeguard will decide on the time to be given to instruction, free swim, and other pool activities in consultation with the Camp Director
Have absolute authority in the pool area over campers and counsellors
Report any breakage or damaged equipment to the Camp Director or Camp Manager
The Lifeguard is required to take part in other camp activities
When necessary, be prepared to act as a counsellor and help in the kitchen
Make any recommendations concerning the equipment or pool area to the camp committee

The Lifeguard at Camp Rotary ensures the safety of campers and staff during aquatic activities, including swimming and canoeing. They monitor water activities, enforce safety rules, and respond to emergencies with quick action. Lifeguards maintain a vigilant watch over designated swimming areas, promote water safety, and assist with pre-activity preparations. When not guarding, they also serve as Cabin Counsellors, supporting and supervising campers. They maintain cleanliness and organization at the waterfront and are trained in first aid, CPR, and rescue techniques. Lifeguards interact with campers, staff, and senior team members to ensure a safe, enjoyable environment. The role requires strong communication skills, the ability to work independently, and a calm demeanour in stressful situations.

Full time summer lifeguard at the Hartland Pool. The following qualifications are required: Bronze Cross/National Certification and Lifesaving Instructor Course. The individual needs to be assertive as they are in charge of the safety and well being of everyone in and around the pool area. Great communication skills are also essential.

Staff will be responsible for the daily supervision of a waterfront beach within Rothesay. Duties will include swimming lessons, beach supervision and clean up of the site.

1) Must be certified with current NLS and Standard First Aid/CPR-C.
2) Must be 16 years of age or older.
3) Responsible for lifeguarding during swim times, protecting and promoting the safety of all individuals in the pool or waterfront area and administering first aid as necessary.
4) Responsible for vacuuming, water testing, and general cleanliness of the pool.
