The selected farmhand would assist with care of the animals to include feedings, water checks and wellness checks. They should be comfortable around a variety of farm animals and may be required to handle animals based on their ability. They should be able to assist with a variety of on farm jobs such as fence set up/repairs, ground work and maintenance, and cleaning animal housing. They may tend to the garden and hydroponics system, to include harvesting produce. If the individual has a driver's license, they may be given tractor work, or asked to do pick ups (animal feed and meat from butcher) as well as drop offs such as donated or sold meat and produce to organizations and community members. The non-profit often has volunteers who are military veterans assisting with tasks in addition to regular staff - applicants must be able to work with other individuals. Comfort around animals and other individuals is key but specific skills and training will be provided as required.
