Head Lifeguard at Salisbury Lions Pool * supervises daily pool operations and all staff, incl class scheduling, incident reports & paperwork for staff hours. HL also oversees daily public outreach (posting pool info on social media, eg. water temps, activities, closures) in collaboration with the Dept of Recreation & Wellness and liaising with the Infrastructure & Public Works Dept for pool maintenance (eg. pool chemical levels, facility maintenance). HL will also ensure swimmer safety, give swim lessons and be direct on-site supervisor for all Lifeguards. Outside the Pool open season, HL will assist with Swim Lesson Registrations and prep for opening of the Pool.
* Located at Salisbury Lions Club, the outdoor pool is managed by the Town of Salisbury through a long-term lease with the Lions Club. HL must have at least 2 years of experience as a Lifeguard and Swim Instructor and must have National Lifeguard Course, Instructor Course and CPR/First-Aid as pre-conditions of employment.

This position will oversee and assist in the supervision of the Department of Infrastructure and Public Works’ Parks and Works Maintenance Assistants. This will include driving to different town locations, assisting with managing the daily duties of the students, etc. In collaboration with the team of Parks and Works Maintenance Assistants, this employee will assist with the maintenance and further development of all municipal parks, walking paths, and downtown Salisbury beautification. This will include lawn mowing, flower and shrub care, etc. They will also assist with maintenance, mowing, and inspections of the wastewater collection and treatment facility, as well as other duties as required by Department of infrastructure and Public Works, Department of Recreation and Wellness, and Town Administration.

The Labourer is responsible for maintaining municipal grounds and facilities through routine outdoor and maintenance tasks. This position involves physical work and requires attention to detail, safety awareness, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Duties and Responsibilities

Founded in 1994 by the Hon. Jim Ross, the mission of Partners for Youth is to engage youth facing challenges and obstacles in their lives to become capable, connected and contributing members of their communities. PFY achieves its mission through innovative programs and services which promote experiential learning in safe, supportive and rewarding environments, in collaboration with public, private and not for profit partners. An extension of our year round program the summer camp experience offers youth at risk the opportunity to explore the New Brunswick wilderness as they take part in an adventure based out tripping camp. Designed as a small group experience only 20 campers and 8 staff participate in each camp. In order to accommodate the demand we plan to offer up to 14 camps during the 2026 summer season. Delivered from our 35 acre site in North Lake NB, our camp provides an outdoor adventure based experience which is supportive, challenging and life changing.

The student will assist the Greater Shediac Community Garden in garden maintenance, sanitation, planting, weeding, pruning, and non-chemical pest control. They will support volunteers, help organize and deliver workshops, assist with communications, and maintain tools and equipment. Under supervision of the Garden Manager and Board of Directors, the student will learn workplace safety, teamwork, planning, reporting, and public engagement. This position offers hands-on experience in sustainable gardening, environmental stewardship, community education, and food security. Eligible high school or post-secondary students will gain transferable skills, mentorship, and practical work experience while contributing to community programs and garden operations.
