The selected student will work under the supervision of the Biobank Sample Manager:
• Assist in sample preparation and handling under guidance.
• Move samples from ACRI and BTD biobank into empty spaces in boxes to liberate space in freezer
under guidance.
• Input data and assist in maintaining and moving data for new biobank database.
• Contribute to maintaining laboratory records and ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
• Help Set up new databases for other projects (BMN Neuro, Covid)

Assist staff with the day-to-day programming for the clients that attend Crosswinds day programs. This would include following programming schedules, assisting staff with group activities, and assisting with community outings. 12 Neighbours Community Inc. operates a community of tiny homes to support people who were experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity. In addition to housing, we provide developmental support to our community members and work training opportunities to help them on their path to independence. We strive to foster inclusivity, dignity and a supportive community.

The Community Activity Support role will work with the community team to organize and run community activities in the summer. These activities include working alongside community members in the community garden, planning summer bbqs and events, participating in physical activities with the community members, etc. This role reports to the Director of Community.

The ideal candidate enjoys working with others, is organized, has excellent communication skills, maintains a positive attitude and has a passion for helping people in vulnerable contexts.

To work in Kitchen and Garden working on food reclaimation and preparation of grown food and donated food for client distribution. During the months of June through August, we have an active large growing and educational garden. We invite groups such as daycares or schools to come and tour the garden and become familiar with the farm to table concept.

Under the direction of Director of Care, Administrator, Activity Director, Activity Assistant for River View Manor will help enhance the quality of lives for residents by providing activities and social interactions. They will work collaboratively with our Nursing Home Without Walls program as well . 1 position requested will work mostly with River View Manor residents , the other position will be for Nursing Home Without Walls which concentrates on seniors living in our communities with the goal of helping seniors to age well in place.

The Saint John Airport Inc. requires assistance with the seasonal tasks that maintain the Airport facility and provide a pleasing and welcoming site for visitors to our region. The candidates for this position may demonstrate an ability to do physical labour independent of supervision, with some experience in landscaping and operating landscaping machinery. Strong service skills and interpersonal abilities are required. This position will be responsible for providing maintenance activities such as lawn & garden maintenance, asphalt maintenance, painting, brush clearing, fence maintenance, minor building maintenance, and other duties as required. The candidate will work under the immediate and ongoing supervision of the Maintenance Manager, who will collaborate with the candidate in the development of a supervision and assessment plan. An introduction to airport operations will be provided.

Assist in the planning and execution of summer programming for children and youth in the Bathurst area. This will include, but not be limited to assisting with our skate park program as well as a week-long day camp for children ages 5 to 11.

Students will assist crew leaders with smolt tracking and estimate programs for Atlantic Salmon in the Miramichi River. This involves collecting and sorting smolts from our smolt wheel, and then assisting with tagging, recovery, transportation, and eventual release of the fish. The fish movements downstream will be tracked using acoustic technology. In June, students will be involved in the salmon fry stocking program, which involves releasing small groups of fish back into their natal streams at various locations around the Miramichi Watershed. In July and August, students will assist with cold water habitat enhancement and maintenance, which involves taking temperature readings, determining fish presence, and collecting habitat data. Students will assist with our juvenile assessment program through electrofishing throughout the watershed in July and August. Students will assist with educational programming including First Cast (teaching youth how to fly fish) and Fish Friends.
