The project assistant will be responsible for entering data collected during monitoring field trips into the organization's databases under the supervision of the environmental technician. They will also ensure the follow-up of project objectives regarding water quality and the monitoring of species at risk, such as the Maritime Ringlet butterfly and the Bank Swallow. The employee will have the opportunity to use and calibrate equipment such as a multi-parameter probe, a flow meter, and an anemometer. The project assistant will also have the opportunity to participate in environmental awareness through various means, including social media, the production of informative documents, and the organization of presentations and daily activities for youth at the La Barque summer camp, as well as presentations with booths at the regional eco-market.

The primary duties of these positions centre around interaction and information for the travelling public. These individuals will greet and provide information about the historical and ecological significance of Cape Jourimain to visitors. This will include: informing them of the history of Cape Jourimain as the historic crossing place between mainland New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island, first by the Mi'kmaq people using birchbark canoes, followed by, after European contact, the French and English using various forms of boats, to the present day Confederation Bridge. They will provide visitors with information on the rich ecology of the site; and will assist with interpretation programs for local youth groups. They will brief visitors to the Lighthouse, explaining the significance of these structures to local navigation. These workers will be provided with an extensive orientation to all facets of the Centre and its grounds.
