Tutors will be trained in and provide a specific literacy intervention program (Barton) to children whose literacy skills are lagging. Tutors will also prepare and organize learning materials and social media content, establish a positive learning environment by modelling and encouraging positive learning attitudes and behaviours, provide appropriate and timely feedback, use time effectively, adapt instructional situations as necessary, track their students progress, maintain records on an online platform, share information verbally and in writing through records and reports as well as collaborate with the Head Tutor, fellow tutors, professionals, and Board members. Tutoring will be offered online but options to provide tutoring in-person can be considered for interested applicants. This is a great opportunity to gain skills and enhance resumes for those in education, psychology, or speech-language pathology, but other applicants are invited as well.
