The applicant will work in a supportive/collaborative team environment assisting in the delivery of projects to fulfill our commitment to excellent environmental monitoring, stewardship and outreach. An onboarding and mentoring plan is in place to ensure that the applicant will be properly trained and receive guidance and support throughout their placement. Interns will work alongside PWA staff to gain hands-on experience in the following areas: Physical restoration work (debris removal, green infrastructure); Water quality and other monitoring; Invasive species monitoring/remediation; Environmental assessments (geomorphology, wetlands, and ecosystem services); Species-at-risk monitoring/habitat remediation; Fish habitat and watercourse connectivity assessments; Native plant planting; Field work in various weather conditions and terrain; Scientific data entry; Development and delivery of public outreach and education; Participate in PWA’s meetings; Equipment maintenance; Other.
