Les protecteurs côtiers seront responsables de participer activement aux inventaires de plages pour dénombrer le Pluvier siffleur. Ils participeront à la protection des aires de nidification, à l’installation des affiches de protections sur les sites de nidification du Pluvier siffleur (une espèce en péril) et à l’installation des affiches de protection des dunes. De plus les étudiants prendront part aux activités éducatives pour différents groupes dans la communauté, participeront à divers inventaires de la faune et de la flore de la zone côtière. Les étudiants participeront aussi activement au ramassage des déchets échoués sur les plages de la Péninsule acadienne afin de diriger ceux-ci vers le centre d’enfouissement. Les protecteurs côtiers feront le suivi des Pluvier siffleur bagués et des couples nicheurs sur plus de 33 plages de la Péninsule acadienne.
