As a Visitor Information Counsellor, the incumbent is responsible to greet the general public and give the best possible visitor service/product recommendations for their stay, based on their needs. They will draw on your knowledge of local, regional and provincial tourism activities. They will provide clear travel directions to visitors using provincially designated route and exit numbers. They will be comfortable working independently and as a team. The V.I.C. is open seven days a week. The incumbents will act with general independence and must be able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

Planning, advertising and conducting recreational activities and crafts for
children, youth and seniors living within the local communities, such as softball, day camps, hiking, crafts and exercise routines; scheduling of community events such as family gatherings and community get-togethers; engaging individuals of the senior demographic, offering age-appropriated recreational activities, social get-togethers, contact with housebound seniors to assist with their particular needs, as able to do so.

Full time summer lifeguard at the Hartland Pool. The following qualifications are required: Bronze Cross / National Certification and Lifesaving Instructor course. The individual needs to be assertive as they are responsible for the safety of all persons at the pool. They will be teaching swimming lessons, swim team and private lessons. The job does entail shift work and some weekends.

They will also be tasked with maintaining a schedule and program records, camp equipment, and office tasks including data entry, report writing, and assisting with community events.

This position requires a candidate with some leadership/management experience and the initiative to work with minimal supervision. Candidates with good organizational, communication and interpersonal skills and safety awareness is a must. Candidates must enjoy engaging with children and community members and working outside. Candidates who are pursuing university/college programs in education or environmental science will find this position an asset to their education and career development. This is a seasonal full-time position (35 hours per week) for 10 -12 weeks commencing in June 2023.
