This position entails assisting the New Brunswick Invasive Species Council- a chapter of the Canadian Council on Invasive Species- in delivering their public outreach activities to educate the public about invasive species and how to prevent their spread, as well as helping with field work. Specific responsibilities will include:
• Attending events and hosting information booths to engage the public & targeted user-groups such as anglers, hikers, & pet owners (eg. fishing tournaments, nature club meetings, farmers markets)
• Assisting with invasive species monitoring & removal activities
• Responding to public inquiries about invasive species
• Assisting with development of educational programming & materials
• Creating content for social media & our website
• Maintaining records on events, social media engagement, public inquiries, etc.
