Student will work with the Staff of the Rural Community of Hanwell to assist in the maintenance of trails including boardwalks throughout the Hanwell Recreation Park trail system. They will clear and chip brush along the trails and keep the trails in a safe condition, which may involve digging, raking, shoveling and hauling fill, etc. The student will also assist in the maintenance of flowers and shrubs, light landscaping such as grass trimming, staining, or painting various structures with our parks. The Parks Maintenance Labourers will be overseen by the Parks Maintenance Supervisor and will assume those responsibilities when the Supervisor is absent. The student must be familiar with using basic tools, working outside in various weather conditions, and able to receive instructions in a professional manner.

Student will work with the Director of Parks & Recreation of the Rural Community of Hanwell to assist with the development and implementation of recreation and leisure programs such as arts, crafts, sports, games, and special events. They will assist in creating and distributing program information and promotional material for the events hosted by the Rural Community of Hanwell. They will set up/tear down and lead recreational activities, and assist the Director as needed. Must be willing to work varied hours as evenings and/or weekends will be necessary for some events.
