This position is for 35 hours per week. The time on the job may be flexible to meet the garden needs. You will help to increase food security by planting, tending, and harvesting the food bank garden vegetable plots.
You will raise awareness by hosting, and encourage participation in weekly open “garden days” at our gardens, showcasing our garden peak season.
Passing out freshly harvested vegetables to registered families of the food bank, and sharing information on how best to prepare, eat and store products.
Other duties may be assigned including some light administrative work, packing food hampers, painting, grocery shopping, and engaging with registered clients of the St. George and Area Food Bank. Not limited to but other duties as enlisted by management. The student summer newsletter and posters and engaging in keeping data files updated.
