Are you self-motivated and looking for a mixture of indoor and outdoor work this summer? We are hiring a student to mow our church (668 Manawagonish Road) and cemetery (corner of Manawagonish Road and Centennial Drive). You will also be required to do some light cleaning inside our church as well as some small maintenance projects. You will be given safety training in the proper use and maintenance of equipment and will be expected to wear proper safety gear. Although you will have people available by phone you will be expected to work without close supervision. You will also require transportation between the church and the cemetery (2.3km).

The successful candidate will be a motivated and reliable individual committed to increasing Indigenous youth participation in sport and recreation, working collaboratively within a team environment, the candidate will support Indigenous communities and key stakeholders in delivering grassroots initiatives that build capacity and strengthen relationships. Requires knowledge of the New Brunswick sport system and an understanding of Indigenous history, culture, and community values. Responsibilities include supporting ASRNB summer initiatives such as Paddles UP, Indigenous Summer Games, and Indigenous Summer Championships; delivering sport and recreation programs and events for Indigenous youth throughout the province; and completing required training or certification. Experience working with Indigenous youth, athletes, coaches, or communities is an asset, along with strong communication skills, leadership, adaptability, and a commitment to inclusive, culturally respectful programming.

Our Community Programs Director will first shadow our Community Outreach Pastor, who oversees our partnerships with community organizations in our neighbourhood, as well as our own community outreach program called Hope Mission, which provides 2 free weekly meals, access to a community health nurse, and opportunities for those experiencing financial poverty and food insecurity to build community and gain skills. After working in partnership with the Community Outreach , the Community Programs Director will then take leadership of the program.
This work includes working closely with and coordinating teams of volunteers to facilitate meals, outings, and special events; collaborating with our community partners to ensure that our summer offerings provide the best support to our community that we are able to offer; building community online through our social media groups; and building community in person by forming and facilitating relationships among the Hope Mission community.
