The main duties will include, but are not limited to;
Receiving and storing food.
Helping with food/ fund raising activities.
Day to day operations such as client intakes, packing food hampers, cleaning, greeting faces, cleaning the food bank. The Food Safety and Handling course is required.
Gardening is also a big part of the foodbank. Assist the current employees on programs with day to day operations.
Administrative work, answering phones. A St. George and Area Food Bank Oath of Confidentiality agreement must be signed.
recording and sharing weekly on social media- information sessions about various gardening and food security topics. Where the community garden is and how to access it, household composting, plant diseases and pests- what to look for, planting and pairing tips, how to grow vegetables indoors, foraging, how to harvest and store vegetables, fruit trees and bushes, edible weeds., and sharing information on how best to prepare, eat and store products.

Assist human service counselors in supporting adult individuals living with intellectual disabilities in various activities within an agency-based model of service delivery. Examples of activities include assistance with self-help, participating in group settings, social, academic and life management, communication skills, employment adaptation, health/physical development.

Assist residents with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
Help residents with mobility, including transferring them from bed to wheelchair, assisting with walking, or positioning them for comfort.
Engage with residents in meaningful conversation and recreational activities.
Assist residents with eating and drinking, ensuring they receive proper nutrition.
Help keep the resident’s living space tidy, including making the bed, changing linens, and ensuring cleanliness.

Monitor patients’ vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure.
Assist in basic patient activities such as bathing, dressing, and feeding.
Help patients with mobility, including transferring, turning, or repositioning bedridden patients.
Observe and document patient symptoms, changes in condition, and responses to treatments.
Report any significant changes in a patient’s condition to doctors, RNs, or supervisors.
Assist with diagnostic tests, such as collecting samples (blood, urine), and send them to laboratories.
Perform basic wound care, including dressing changes, cleaning wounds, and monitoring for signs of infection.

Assess residents health by taking medical histories, performing physical exams, and reviewing lab results.
Monitor vital signs such as temperature, blood pressure, heart rate, and oxygen levels, and track changes in patient conditions.
Document and update residents information in medical records, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of changes in health status.
Develop individualized care plans in collaboration with doctors, LPNs, and other healthcare providers.
Administer prescribed medications, treatments, and therapies, ensuring proper dosage and monitoring for side effects or complications.
Perform and supervise clinical procedures, such as wound care, catheterization, and injections.
