Cabin leader would provide leadership & supervision to a group of 8-10 campers assigned to their cabin for a camp week. As a program associate, an individual would be involved in program activity instruction & supervision; wide games; hikes; campfires, etc.

Under the supervision of the Facilities Director, the student will do the general maintenance of municipal trails (lawn mowing, tree planting and maintenance of flower beds, and general maintenance, etc.) as well as the maintenance (painting and repairs) of municipal buildings. With the Trans-Canada Trail crossing the municipality as well as the increased use of our outdoor facilities, several projects are proposed during the spring and summer and an increase in maintenance is necessary. The student will also have the opportunity to work with the Director of Community Life during special events in order to assist and support their smooth running. For example, helping with set-up and tear-down, etc

Under the supervision of the Golf Course Manager, the student will be responsible for welcoming customers to the golf course and surrounding areas. Duties include customer service, product sales and rentals, food sales, answering calls, and ensuring the cleanliness of carts and the exterior of the pavilion. Additional tasks include picking up buckets at the driving range, washing golf balls from the driving range, assisting with the organization of the junior program, and supporting tournaments and special events.

The student may also, on occasion, assist with miscellaneous tasks and work as a “Starter/Marshal.”

• Monitor daily construction progress of various projects
• Ensure that project plans and specifications are followed
• Ensure that approved construction and safety practices and procedures are followed
• Communicate regularly with various contractors, consultants and GMIAA staff on day-to-day operation of projects
• Data collection for the purposes of updating airport records, including construction and facilities CAD drawings. Data collection may be done by various methods, such as surveying equipment (GPS), photographs, field measurements, etc.
• Assist the airport Operations Management Team and Engineering Project Coordinator with various related duties
• Support airport mechanical maintenance and electrical maintenance departments as required
• Responsible for complying with the policies of the corporation and Transport Canada with respect to rules, acts, regulations, by-laws, procedures and safe working practices.

The Field Maintenance Summer Student is responsible for maintaining airport grounds and landscaped areas on both groundside and airside in support of safe, clean, and well-maintained operations. The role also supports airside and groundside marking activities, equipment cleaning, and general upkeep.

The Activity Assistant will work directly with the Therapeutic Recreation team and will assist in the planning, implementation, delivery and assessment of daily programs for our residents. They will also work with our Junior Volunteer Coordinator to provide oversight/leadership in the coordinating of Junior Volunteers participating throughout the facility. The Activity Assistant will be interacting daily with the residents in our nursing home on all units, supporting the Activity Directors in meeting the group and individual needs of our residents. The Activity Assistant will be involved in delivering programs that meet the social, recreational, spiritual, physical and emotional needs of the residents of York Care Centre.

The Junior Volunteer Coordinator will work with the Therapeutic Recreation Team. The individual will be responsible for recruiting, conducting orientation and supervising youth who are participating in our junior volunteer program within the Nursing Home. The Junior Volunteer Coordinator will be required to participate in program planning within the Therapeutic Recreation department to ensure adequate support for the implementation of various programs and outings planned for the residents throughout the summer months. This individual will be responsible to oversee and coordinate youth volunteers within York Care Centre and as well interact daily with residents and the team of professionals.

The Rehabilitative Assistant will provide assistance to our rehab department in providing rehabilitative services to the residents of York Care Centre. They will assist in the development and implementation of treatment plans designed to meet residents’ needs all while promoting resident autonomy. They will assist in the modification and adaptation of individual treatment plans in accordance with the residents’ status as established by the health care team of professionals. The role of the Rehab Assistant is to improve/maintain the residents’ physical wellbeing, and assist in the care planning, establishing goals and benchmarks for the resident.
