NB Copes is seeking a compassionate, organized, and detail-oriented summer student to join our team. This role is ideal for an individual with a heart for supporting grieving children and families and an interest in the behind-the-scenes logistics of a non-profit organization.

The successful candidate will play a vital role in the preparation and execution of our largest annual event, the Family Grief Retreat. The successful candidate must be available to attend the Family Grief Retreat from September 3rd to the 7th. The candidate must be comfortable being around grieving families. Personal experience with grief would be asset.

The Renous Recreation Center is a large facility that includes over 3 large buildings and over 8 acres of land, and the ground worker tasks would include looking after the lawn maintenance, picking up and looking after the garbage around the facility, painting and small tasks that can be completed to improve the outside area.
It is a very tasking job and takes large amount of hours to complete each week.

As the garden caretaker you would be responsible for:
Watering, weeding, lawn care, planting,
caring for honey bees, maintaining hives
Communicate daily with Coordinator.
Enjoy working outdoors, lifting up to 30-40lbs
Standing for long periods

1. Administrative. Review supplies, answer telephone, assist with client appointments, assist with online documentation. 2. Exhibits and displays. Assist with artwork installations, assist with exhibit events. 3. Public relations. Greet visitors, inform visitors about artists and artworks, assist with artwork sales & orders, prepare artworks for takeout or pickup, assist with social media. Other duties. Gallery maintenance including dusting, vacuuming, cleaning counters and displays, cash management, open & close gallery.

The successful applicant will provide support to the Executive Director in the day-to-day tasks such as (but not limited to): website and social media updates, business surveying, updating current Downtown client files, overseeing Downtown beautification elements as well as grant research and application for the organisation. Under the supervision of the Research Team, the student will research local social conditions, including poverty, food security, homelessness, and social exclusion. The student will conduct literature reviews and use products from the last census to develop infographics and reports that will inform residents and policymakers at the local, provincial, and national levels.
